Chapter 3
Dana Point was a suburban city not too far south from Laguna Beach.
A series of boat docks were stationed not far from the shore. Many people would keep their sail and motor boats tied up here
while they went into town to get something to eat or buy boat related items. Around 2:30, people began to notice the waves
acting very strongly. Boats would continually crash into the docks from their tied up points. It was not until it was too
late that people realized what was heading for shore. The great mass of silver spines shot towards the docks. People ran
to the mainland. The great body approached and finally crashed into the docks. The wooden exploded into splinters. Boats were
pushed aside by the great form. From the waters it rose. Godzilla roared into air. The great monster had returned once
again. Water dripped from his scaly hide. Godzilla looked down at the masses of tiny creature running from him. Their buildings
lay no more than a couple hundred meters from him, behind a hill. He began to walk. Godzilla’s giant foot stepped
into the sand of Dana Point Beach. Monstrous tracks were left in the ground. The dinosaur arrived at the hill and simply pushed
his way through the formation. A huge hole was left, and boulders tumbled down into Dana Point. Godzilla walked through the
town. Small buildings were crushed underfoot. His long, sinuous tail knocked over structures behind him. Hundreds of innocents
were crushed under his feet or tail. Stopping at the outskirts of Dana Point’s business district, Godzilla looked
on at the skyscrapers. Some were as tall as he was, some even taller. It didn’t matter to him though. All they were
to him were objects in his way. An intense blue glow overtook his spines. Blue lightning danced up and down his back and a
glow appeared in his mouth. Godzilla released his atomic beam and fired it at the buildings. Three were hit. The shortest
one exploded into concrete and glass shards. The other two fell to their sides, into the busy streets below. Godzilla
roared once again, and then continued on through the piles of rubble. More buildings stood before him. One, a one hundred
meter tall one, he pushed into, causing the top half to collapse onto him. He roared in fury and pushed his way past the falling
debris. The blue glow once again returned and Godzilla spat forth his beam, decimating several city blocks. A wall flame now
moved through Dana Point. The once peaceful boating town was now reduced to chaos. *** “Goddamn!” Krueger
yelled. He slammed his fist into the wall. “Not only Godzilla is back at the worst possible time, Stoning is running
off with the Gojulas.” Van was taken back by the General’s action. He’d never seen Krueger so steamed
before. “Sir.” Herman said. “Intel reports that Godzilla has gone through Dana Point and is making his
way northeast. There are only a few settlements along his path and we are already evacuating them. After he passes those,
its barren desert for awhile. We are sending a squad of infantry Zoids to try and slow him down before he arrives.”
“Good job, Herman.” Krueger said, sounding reassured. “I hope the Command Wolves and Guyzacks can hold
him back till Stoning arrives.” Van had a cold feeling in his gut. “Kruger, there is no way in hell the Gojulas
will last against that monster. At least not the way it currently.” “It’s too late for that, Van.”
Krueger responded. “Once the White House and the Japanese Zi section get wind of this, you can expect bad things to
go down here. In the mean time, all we can do is hope.” *** Godzilla walked into the scorching desert of Nevada.
Already he had been out the human’s way. Unlike Japan, the United States were much more open. The atomic giant hoped
he would find something of interest here. A series of explosions erupted on Godzilla’s chest. Godzilla’s eyes
saw his attackers before him. A line of navy blue mechanical wolves. Command Wolves. These were among the early Zoids models
created to combat threats like him. Large, double barrel cannons sat on their backs. Another volley of shots went off and
impacted on Godzilla’s scaly armor. The shells did not do anything his regeneration could not handle. Godzilla fired
an atomic blast at his attackers. The group of seven Command Wolves split up. One unfortunate unit was hit by the beam. It
tore through his right side, rendering the machine useless. The other Command Wolves fired blast after blast while on the
run. One of them made its way to attack Godzilla up close. It sank its metal fangs into the monster’s leg. Godzilla
roared and kicked the Command Wolf away. He then stepped on its, crushing the body like a tin can. Another leapt up at
him. Clawing at his chest and firing the cannon simultaneously, the Command Wolf attacked viciously. But it was not enough,
for Godzilla grabbed the Zoid with his two hands. He then grabbed the neck and pulled it back till it snapped off. Loose wiring
sparked and Godzilla dropped the body and head. The pilot inside was crushed in the motionless, disembodied head by Godzilla’s
foot. The remaining four Wolves retreated to an attack formation and fired upon Godzilla from a distance. Godzilla readied
another beam, but the ground beneath him collapsed and he fell. A cloud of dust engulfed him. From the sand, ten Guyzacks,
models after scorpions, dug out. Armed with tail guns and pincers, the Guyzacks crawled atop the fallen giant. Firing laser
blasts from their tails and slashing at his skin with their pincers, Godzilla became irritated with the mechanical arachnids.
Energy surged through his body and a great flash of blue light erupted from his body. An energy wave shot out mere seconds
later. All of the Guyzacks were thrown form his body and were either incinerated or crashed into pieces on the desert sand.
Godzilla rose from the hole. He eyed the Command Wolves, now looking very afraid. They began to retreat. Godzilla knew
he was too slow to catch them. Instead he fired another atomic blast at them, effectively destroying two more. The other two
retreated to their home base. Godzilla began to follow them and, once at their den, he would destroy any others that deified
him. *** An hour or so later, Godzilla was still tracking his mechanical prey. The Command Wolves would have eluded
him, if not for the tracks they left. Godzilla continued his pursuit. Then, above him, a shadow loomed over him. He looked
up, and another mechanical one was there in the sky. Godzilla roared a challenge. It was returned in the form of a metallic
shriek. Lowering from the sky, the Gojulas’ heavy feet slammed into the ground. The White Heron transport ships,
large white and blue jets with enough strength to tow the massive weapon, hovered overhead. Support cables ran from the back
and tail of the Gojulas. They detached and slithered back up into the White Herons. Inside the Gojulas cockpit, Trey Stoning
gave a farewell to the aircraft as they sped off. In front of him stood the world’s greatest enemy. Outside, the Gojulas
let loose another shriek. The Storm Cannons aimed forward at Godzilla. Godzilla roared at the mechanized weapon. “It’s
time you met your match, monster.” Stoning gloated.
