Phase 3

He opened his eyes. Blurred vision, but it eventually cleared up. Set his eyes on the rocky landscape around him. It was kind of dim in there, but the light from outside shone in from outside the cave. He managed to get to his feet, having to use the back support, and staggered to the entrance of the cave. Each step brought a cracking-pop sound. Moving his shoulders and arms just brought more of the noise.

Exiting his cave, he surveyed the jungle scene; nothing special going down. He moved his tail up, then down. That produced a series of cracking noises that echoed across the valley his cover overlooked. He looked up into the sky and let out a massive roar: SKREEOOONNKK.

The King has awakened.

Godzilla looked down at the valley. The trees were filled with life now. All of the Ogasawaran fauna, from the giant to the small, was awake and stirring. Godzilla turned and started to walk down the trail that lead to the beach. The warm sun was beating down on the monster King. He was happy.

He arrived at the beach, his peers sitting there: Anguirus was sunbathing, Rodan was fishing for something to eat, and Gorosaurus and Baragon fighting over a piece of meat. Godzilla walked into the water and felt its embracive chill. He looked up, closed his eyes, and a breeze blew past. The King sniffed the air.

            There’s something wrong.

Godzilla looked around and all he felt was some kind of odd disturbance around him. He wasn’t sure, but he knew it was bad. Godzilla looked at his fellow monsters and made a choice. He let out a quiet roar at Gorosaurus. The oversized dinosaur looked at his atomic friend. After a few grunts, Gorosaurus was digging into the sand. Within a few minutes, the carnosaur was gone.

Godzilla looked back in the sky and sees Rodan flying around. There’s something wrong and he does not like it.
